Workshop, Analysis of raft and piled raft by the program ELPLA

At the university Siegen in Germany on Wednesday 11 November 2009

everyone is welcome to attend our Workshop:

Analysis of raft and piled raft by the program ELPLA

Information about the event:

Speaker: Prof. Dr.-Ing. El Gendy, visiting professor of our university partners Suez Canal University.

Date: Wednesday, the 11th November 2009, at 09.00 clock

Location: Siegen University - Department of Civil Engineering - Geotechnical Institute

Room: PB B 0121

Cost: Free

Prof. El Gendy had worked in Germany with Prof. Manfred Kany. Prof. El Gendy had further developed, together with the father of the "Modulus of Compressibility method and the analysis of elastic rafts" Prof. Kany, the analysis and design of rafts and piled rafts by the program ELPLA. It can analyze raft, footing, piled raft or piled footing of arbitrary shape with subsoil stratification and variable stiffness. Raft or footing can be designed according different codes such as DIN 1045, EC2, ACI and ECP. ELPLA is considered the most widely used program.

The objectives of the workshop are: Participants who had analyzed and designed foundations by modulus of subgrade reaction to create the relationship between modulus of subgrade reactions and modulus of compressibility.

Interested persons in this event can register in the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering.
